Accomplishments/ Best Remembered for
Neil Armstrong is remembered for a big reason. On July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong had taken a trip to the moon. He became the first man to successfully got to the moon and the first man to walk on the moon. The mission to go to the moon was called Apollo 11. When Neil Armstrong first got on the moon he had said “That is one small step for a man, but a giant leap for mankind."
He went with Michael Collins and Edwin Aldrin. In total there was three of three of them. They returned on July 24, 1969, on Apollo 11 safely and successfully. They landed in the Pacific Ocean west of Hawaii. The three astronauts were put into quarantine for 3 weeks.
